Quick Update

For the last two weeks our lives have been a blur of trips back and forth to the NICU twice a day. But Benjamin is doing well (eating much better) and will MAYBE be coming home in another week (we hope) if he keeps up the good work.

I know I am not good at answering or returning calls right now, but we appreciate the well wishes and support and we are very close to returning to normal.

The picture is of my beautiful daughter and the lovely flowers my Aunt Jann sent to brighten up our rather ugly hospital room.

Elsa's First Baseball Game

Elsa had her first game last Thursday. She was very nervous because she has never played in a game before. She kept saying that she was going to be the worst player out there. I think that those thoughts disappeared after her first at bat when she hit a triple.

She hit the first pitch and was rounding second base before I could get the camera out and record her running the bases.

She got up to bat 3 times and hit a triple and 2 singles. I was pretty proud. She also made a stop when she was playing shortstop and almost got the runner out. You could tell by the end of the game that she was a lot more confident than when she started the game. It should be a fun year.

Carousel

You would think this bed-rest nonsense would give me more time to blog. But, as it turns out, to blog about stuff you do, you have to DO stuff.

The couple of weekends before I got put on house arrest, we did cruise the SL area with the girls.

Here is my pretty Elsa about to ride a carousel. I believe in this one she is asking when it's going to start.
Although apprehensive at first, when the music started and the horse started to move up and the whole thing began to spin, Adele started to scream with delight. She has a delight scream. It's very much a scream.

Elsa's Baptism

Elsa was baptized Saturday. I am very proud of the thoughtful things she has said and asked since then. She has been interested in learning about the church and she loves to hear stories about church history. She's also taking becoming a member very seriously and seemed more tuned in today than normal (not perfectly of course, she is still eight after all). But today she was very interested in what people said, did, what they meant and how it was different for her now that she is a member too. I love how this little kid's mind and heart work.
This is Elsa with "Poppa"(Ryan's dad) who baptized her.

I didn't get any post-font pictures of her. But this is Elsa before church today in her confirmation dress.

Oh yes... a total angel.
I posted a barrage of pictures of the girls before church today on their blog here and here.
