I DO NOT want my children to get this pig flu!
I know it's called H1N1, you don't need to call me on it. I like "pig flu" though, it sounds nastier, and I hear this virus is pretty nasty.
After MUCH AGONY and research about the risks, we decided that the risks of getting the vaccination are out weighed by the risks if the kids getting the junk-especially Adele. And since both kids are unavoidably exposed to people (who are exposed to people, who are exposed to people, who are exposed to people...) we decided if this is a pandemic like the CDC seems to think, we need to do what we can.
What we thought we could do was get up this morning at the crack of dawn, and go to one of the 4 centers in Utah that are dispersing the vaccine today (from 7am to 11 am).
We got there in time to park a half mile away because cars lined the streets. Throngs of people (mostly with small children) were walking away from the health center. Some of them had waited in line for hours starting in the middle of last night. And guess what?
Every single vaccine for the pig flu in Utah is gone.
I really don't want my children to get this stuff. I really don't like getting up at 6am on a Saturday, especially when it's just to expose my children to cold, damp air, and throngs of angry, unvaccinated people.
Arg.

I hear ya sister. I can't find it anywhere for myself or my kids. Good luck in the staying healthy business.
I worry about my kids getting sick, especially Oakley bringing something home from school. I just hope and pray that all of us can stay healthy!
And that sucks that you got up that early on a Saturday and all you got was a big fat nothing!
